Set against the picturesque back drop of low hills and a bright flowing river, the 289 acres of rolling campus is a perfect answer to all the demands of a National Institute of Technology. As a seat of scientific and technical learning, N.I.T., Jamshedpur has the advantage of a peaceful atmosphere that soothes frayed nerves and encourages concentration of study and research.

The main building consists of the administrative block, lecture halls, departments, classrooms and library. The computer center is adjacent to the academic complex. The staff quarters are located on the eastern side of the campus.

There are 10 hostels in all with furnished rooms and amenities. The institute maintains courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis. Apart from this, it also has cricket, hockey and football grounds along with a gymnasium.
